Sara started her labor doula training in 2014 and became certified with CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association) in April of 2016. She is a mother of four beautiful children and has a passion to help families have amazing, empowering, safe births.
Sara was raised in Minnesota and Texas. While living in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, she worked with various groups at different times helping the poor on both sides of the border. Through these experiences, church youth group, camps, etc. she came to know the saving love of our Messiah. Growing up in a pastor’s family, she had the opportunity to learn much of God’s word. Great education opportunities also helped – private school, homeschool group, and a little public school.
Through hearing missionaries speak and asking God what His will was for her life, Sara discerned the Lord didn’t want her to pursue a college degree right after high school but seek out opportunities to serve Him through local and foreign missions. After graduating, she went to Mozambique, Africa, with Orphans Unlimited Inc. Once her three month commitment was finished she went on to Bethany College of Missions in Minnesota.
One third of the way through the first year of college, Sara met Jonathan Pugsley. After one year of college, they were married and went into ministry together. They’ve lived in Texas, Belize (Central America), and now live in Kansas City, Missouri. Jonathan works with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Kansas City. Sara teaches their four children and is a labor doula.
