An experience I endured four years ago today profoundly impacted the decision I would make two years later to become a labor doula.
Four years ago, I gave birth to my second child. My sweet Eden. My Joy! And she is such a joyful young lady in every way.
I realized during (and looking back on) that birth experience how important it is to be supported during one of the most difficult and beautiful times in life by people you love and trust (and who actually know how to help.)
I love that I can be part of that loving, trust worthy, support for moms and dads during this very special time in life. Birth can be an empowering, encouraging experience or a traumatic one. And while no outcome is ever guaranteed, parents can be supported and allowed to make their own choices in a way that gives them the confidence that they are raising a child with wisdom.
